Edge Food Shelf

I think sometimes from a human perspective, when we think of serving, we sometimes jump to the conclusion that it can or might be a chore.  Or, a task to do, that will bring little return compared to the time and effort going into it. Maybe I might be saying this for I have battled this mind set from time to time in the past.  I guess just the busyness of life and maybe hardships tends to weigh a person down and we don't look at serving as the opportunity it really is to receive heavenly/spiritual blessings.

Food Shelf Prayer Request

I was at Cub today after church picking up a few things to donate to the food shelf, and I saw that Kellog's cereal was on sale foe $1.88 for the big boxes.  We are completely out of cereal and the shelf could use your help.  Shag's were also on sale for .99 and we are also out of those.  Anything you can do will help a lot.

Food Shelf
Wow! The Lord just blows me away each time we gather to distribute food. What blows me away really has nothing to do with food at all.  It is so clearly evident that lives are being transformed and hope restored through the faithful prayer activity and the love we give away.  People who come are really getting a taste of how good, kind, loving and caring God is through the example of everyone who serves.  Your gracious hearts are so appreciated.  Your love is covering a multitude and people are really watching as we deliver Christ like behavior. Many prayers are being answered for the sheep that come to receive, and Jesus is so Glorified because of this.  I hope these words are ministering to your heart...

Food Shelf

What an awesome, always faithful God we serve.  Every third Saturday we distribute food, He shows up with abundant grace and tender mercy for all all of His children. Whether you are on the giving or receiving end of this event, the Lord blesses everyone right where they are at with exactly what we need from Him.  Even though people come to receive physical food, they leave with spiritual food that brings so much hope in such trying times.  The pleasure of the Lord is so evident when we answer our call of service.  I personally have never quite sensed His pleasure to this magnitude, until I started to help in feeding His sheep. As it is stated in His Word, in the book of James, this is true religion.  The food shelf is growing in leaps and bounds, and we as servants are completely dependent upon Him in FAITH to provide everything needed.  This has increased faith to many as we watch God demonstrate His faithfulness in delivering His promises.  I wait every month in anticipation.  Again, what an awesome God.
